The Animated Crucifix

Reader Responses

Hello,

I thank you for your article The Animated Crucifix. All around me I hear all sorts of christians singing the praises of this movie. I hear things like, "This is the most accurate portrayal of the death of Jesus." I am completely floored by this. I hear people that I never would have ever thought tolerate a movie like this recommend it to others. This may be the most deceptive tool Satan has conjured, aside from the Catholic church itself.

The article The Animated Crucifix makes plain everything I felt needed explaining and more. God truely heard my prayer to help me with the delimma in which I found myself. I did not know how to express all that I was feeling. You have been able to express these things--thank God. The major plus of the article is that you know who Jesus truely is--God manifest in flesh!

I will be sharing this article with everyone that I know!!!

Yours,
Scott

As an Irish protestant I well understand much of what you wrote. Fortunately I suspect that most individuals will not pick up on the Roman catholicism or mariolatry. Ones who know their Bible will be a bit uncomfortable with certain elements but the passion of the crucifix will hold much for them. It is sad that such a small brush was used to paint the resurrection.

By the way, I read Fox's Book of Martyrs many years ago!

Regards,
Carl

I want to thank you for your very detailed explanation about the movie The Passion of The Christ. I did not want to see it and from what I heard and some other reviews read I thought it sounded very Catholic.

Some Christians are defending this movie. Where is the discernment? Thank you again for speaking the truth.

Terrie

I could not agree with you more and have read some of your articles.

Did you write the article on the "Passion of the Christ" ? Refuting the corrupt presentation of Mel Gibson's fiasco of the Movie?

I agree 100%. When I watched the movie I sensed something was wrong with it. Now I know it was the contemptible corrupt Catholicism leaking through which most immature and today's ignorant Christian would never detect.

Thanks for taking a stand against this Gibson blunder or should I say Satan's well orchestrated deception. I have as much or more against what was not said. Truly the Gospel message is woefully missing.

Again,
Thanks for your being faithful to God's holy word,
Russell

Hi,

I was looking for information on the "Passion" movie by Mel Gibson.  I had just seen the movie earlier today and what was in it shocked and saddened me.  I believe almost everything I have read in regards to what you have claimed as from the word of God, including prophecy.

Thanks for reading and may God bless your reachout to people.

Matthew

Dear Friends in Christ,

I just read your critique on the Animated Crucifix I want to say Thank You!!  Having come out of the Catholic church years ago I was alarmed when I heard that Mel was Catholic and the Pope had said of the movie "It is as it was". I had an immediate check in my spirit about this movie.

In the Catholic church Jesus dies and is offered up at each mass. The bible tells us in Hebrews 9:28 that Christ was once offered for the sins of many. Praise God who is faithful to give us the discernment when we seek his face.

I have shared this with some in my church and all  those on my e-mail.

It is alarming to hear some Pastors that  I had believed were sound in their teachings who are promoting this for  evangelistic purposes. I pray this article helps them to see the error they are spreading.

In Jesus
Sandra

Dear Brother,

Thank you for taking the time to put together an insightful article on the Passion.

Several weeks ago, I had considered attending the movie, but after watching "The Making of the Passion" on PAX TV, and seeing the blatant misrepresentation of the gospels, I decided against it. I then began to do a little homework on the cast of the Passion. I too, found that a number of the actresses  have played in porno movies. Sergio Rubini who plays Dismas has also been involved in a pornographic movie.(Amnesia/2002).

I truly believe Satan is having a good laugh right now. He has appeared as an angel of light to deceive the masses. It is so sad that many of the Evangelical masses have bought the lie; hook, line, and sinker.

Thank you for the warning.

Sincerely in Christ,
Stephanie

Thank you for your words on "Passion of the Christ". I could not figure out why I did not want to see the movie. Your words and God's bible turned my "feelings" into understanding.

God Bless you and your efforts,
In Christ,
Pierre

Thank you for the well-researched review of God's Word in light of the "Passion" movie. Excellent job, and I appreciate your fear of and trust in the real Jesus Christ.

Read your article on Mel Gibson's movie. As a long-time Christian, I don't think I would be as damaged as a younger one, but I'd already decided not to polute myself with it. Your words gave substance to some of the thoughts that I'd been having, which I belive were by the Holy Spirit, to avoid the thing. Yet God sure is using it as an opportunity for Christians to talk about Him, and that part is pretty good. "All things work to the good..." etc.

Just wanted to mention that I found out why the movie has the format it does. It is the Catholic "Stations of the Cross". My wife, an ex-Catholic, and I were talking, and it became apparent. No person not a Catholic would guess that was the matrix for the movie, and few Catholics would think that others would not know it was the Stations.

So that is one of the reasons it has gone astray, and I believe the prime reason it took the form it did. Thought you might be interested.

May we all see the true Jesus,
Pat

Thank you for posting your comments about The Passion of the Christ. It gave me a lot to think about and consider.

To whom it may concern:

Your article against the Passion movie was one of the best things I have ever read. Full of scripture reasons that demand the attention of believers today. I am writing to request permission to reprint/reproduce part or all of the article in some literature we hope to distribute in opposition and protest of the film's opening weekend. If required, we could put a text line referring people to your website, letgodbetrue.com. Thank you for your timely attention to this urgent request!

Your servant for Christ's sake,
Paul

I want to thank you for such a good article on the movie. I have been pondering whether to see it or not and with the help of your article and the provided links at the end, I have decided that seeing it would not be a right decision.

I have also been wondering how a movie such as this relates to Biblical Prophecy. My wondering was anwered. I have sent this article to some friends who are excited about seeing it. I pray that they come to the same conclusion as me. Thank you once again and God Bless your ministry.

Andrea

Hello,

I want to thank you for your brave and Godly stance against Mel Gibson's film. I have had a heavy heart about this film since hearing about it, and I'm saddened that virtually all my Christian friends are going to see it. They applaud it, saying that even if it was created by people who do not really know God, it will turn some hearts toward Jesus.

Your arguments against this are right on target, and I plan to use some of the points you made to dissuade them from going to this vile, gory, sensational multi-media event.

I have warned them about the images that are going to be burned into their brains, but to no avail, I'm afraid. I believe this film to be from the pit of hell and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your article and for giving me the information I need to present a biblically based refutation of their justifications for seeing this film.

Yours in Christ,
Brian

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your comprehensive review of The Passion. A few of us believers out here were beginning to wonder if we were the only ones who saw what you have taken the time to write about the movie. I am a former Catholic and I am continually amazed at the willingness of the "Protest-ant" Church to forget what the Reformation was all about. I plan to forward this webesite to as many Christians as I can.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Karen

Thank you,

I had no desire to see this movie, and have encouraged many of my friends not to see it. I too believe that hype of this magnitude will only destroy the hopes of more coming to Christ. It will only delude their minds and cause them to have a fantasy about who and what He is about. I believe that wolves very often come in sheeps clothing. This movie is the ultimate of that!

Teresa

I thank God that there are people that are not afraid to stand up and with boldness proclaim the truth. From the very beginning, I just knew there was something not right about this movie. Anytime the "masses" are for something, watch out!!

However, I read that Franklin and Billy Graham and even Erwin Lutzer, who I always greatly respected endorsed this movie. I thought to myself, who am I, this self righteous know-it-all to condemn this film. But I had no peace and today I found your website. Thank you, thank you.

I know the Bible says that in the last days how easilly men will be deceived. Boy, it is happening right in front of our very eyes. You belong to the "remnant" that inspite of all odds you will not go along with the crowd, no matter who they are, but will stand firm, knowing that if God is for you, who can be against you.

Please keep up the good work. You are definitely in the minority!!

I will pray for you.
Marlene

Thank you for your stand on "The Passion" by Mel Gibson. I want to encourage you to keep standing for the truth.

I was beginning to think I was the only Christian on earth that could see what Satan has done by creating this movie. I feel like Joshua and Caleb, the only ones willing to follow God into the promised land. My Sunday School class wants to all go see it together. When I oppose it, I get some weird looks and opposition, but no sound doctrine. Christian leaders are publically endorsing and begging people to go see it, so they can be ready to answer any questions unsaved people have about it. I wonder what Christians have done the past 2000 years without it? Rom 3:32; 6:23, maybe?

This flocking of Christians to Satan's morsel has imprinted on my mind the ease with which the anti-Christ will lead the world astray, even Christians. God help us.

Anyway, thanks for standing up for Yahweh and not running to the golden calf.

God is using you. Stand firm.

In Christ,
Bill

Hi. I was "led" to your website and am very impressed. There is apparently a whole group of believers who are "in" this world, but not "of" this world. It is gratifying to know you are there. You back up all your beliefs with scripture, therefore PROVING the accuracy of your beliefs.

God Bless You.

Your Sister In Christ,

Marilyn

Well, you won't like me because I am a Roman Catholic. I just ignored your anti-Catholic stuff under your Passion Movie page.

I agree with you on many points about the movie and Mr. Gibson. This movie is propaganda. Jesus on earth was a blue collar hard working man. He didn't have long feminine hair and I cannot stand any actor playing Jesus to begin with but this image thing just adds more disgust to the whole situation.

I believe Mr. Gibson is trying to promote a Jesus that is not biblical. I cannot stand movies that portray Jesus, Mary, the apostles. I think this is a sin agianst God and our Christian brothers and sisters. I can just see it now. The passion action figures, dolls, bumper stickers, even a the passion board game.

This movie is awful. I might see it just so that when I tell others how terrible it is I can at least point out to them what was so bad.

Someone needs to stop this sickening marketing our our savior for money profit and personal fame.

I would not be surprised if my church made Mr. Gibson a living saint.

This whole passion of the christ thing makes me sick.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PAGE dealing with this movie, I have sent the link to family and friends both Protestant and Catholic alike.

At least I am not alone in my thinking of this movie and it's diretor.

Hello. I just read your article on Mel Gibson's "The Passion." At first, I'll admit, I thought you were overreacting. I kept reading, though, and you made a lot of sense. I've always had a hard time believing in God and Christ because of the fact that I could not visualize Them. I was thinking "The Passion" would be the answer to my prayers. In the end, I was really looking for an emotional experience that would draw me to God and erase my many doubts. Something in my mind told me to be careful, though, because I have always been drawn to things of an emotional nature. I've been in search of a quick fix, and the answer is not in Hollywood. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you.

Jim

Thank you for the article on the Passion. All I can say is: AMEN, BROTHER! MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN YOUR UNVARNISHED DECLARATION OF HIS GLORIOUS GOSPEL!

I agree with you. No one will be saved through this blasphemous movie. However, I will be praying that God may touch one of His elects' hearts through your clear declaration of His precious Gospel in your review of that movie.

I continually tell people that Christ did not have long hair. Most of them are supposedly Christian. However, I can tell that my comments fall upon deaf ears. But most people have such a low view of the Scriptures that a comment like the one that God made through Paul in 1 Corinthians concerning the disgrace of long hair on a man, does not affect them in the least. May God grant our men repentance unto belief of His Word.

Your brother in Christ,
Ron

I JUST WANT TO SAY: THANK YOU.

I'M ONE OF THE MILLIONS OF PERSONS, THAT REALLY WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE, BUT, NOW THAT I KNOW, THAT REAL TRUE, I'M NOT GOING, MY HUSBAND IS NOT A CHRISTIAN, YET, AND I WAS HOPING THAT THIS MOVIE, WILL HELP, I WAS FORGETTING THAT ONLY GOD, AND HIS WORD, WILL MAKE HIM, GO TO JESUS OF NAZARET, AND AGAIN THANK YOU, AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

MY ENGLISH IS NOT TO GOOD, BUT I HOPE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND ME.

LILIANA

Thank you! Are you affiliated with any denomination or are you an independent fellowship? I found you when looking up information on the Passion movie - I found your critique very insightful.
