The Animated Crucifix

Do you have pictures in your church?

If we did, we would be hypocrites, wouldn't we? But we do not, so we are not.

We reject all pictures of Jesus, Mary, saints, angels, heaven, or anything else from the Bible. We do not even have the so-called Christian flag. We do not have an altar or anything at all of a religious nature to assist our worship. We use a pulpit only to hold the pastor's Bible and notes. We strive to be consistent with our application of the second commandment - we reject any image or likeness of anything pertaining to the worship of God.

We do not have Christmas Nativity scenes or Easter pageants, because we recognize that both holidays came from Rome. We never decorate trees in our place of worship or hire a Santa Claus to entertain our children. We do not face the east and sing to the sun early on Easter morning, and we do not have an Easter egg hunt on the church grounds in the afternoon. We do not have a painting of John the Baptist and Jesus behind our baptistery. We do not have stained glass windows of Mary giving the keys of the kingdom of heaven to Jesus.

Furthermore, we do not have pictures of Jesus in our homes. But we do have several copies of the Bible in every home. There are no statues of St. Christopher in our cars, and no key ring pictures of a longhaired Jesus knocking at a wooden door. We may have swords, suits of armor, or other decorator items, but they have nothing to do with the worship of God and do not violate Exodus 20:4.

We strive to be consistent with our application of the second commandment - for it is very serious to us. We reject any image or likeness of anything pertaining to the worship of God. To see how we apply similar commandments against Rome's holy days, please review the following documents from our website:
