Proverbs
A Growing Commentary and Devotional Project

You have found pure gold, the mother lode of wisdom!

No, not our comments, but the eternal wisdom of Jehovah, the great I AM THAT I AM, put in short, pithy sayings for you and your family to enjoy and prosper from for the rest of your lives. Taste the honey!

What is God's will for my life? How can I be a wiser Christian? What should I teach my children? What is wrong with this generation? How can I be happy and successful? What kind of woman should I marry? How can I defeat sexual temptation? Why do I have money problems? What are the priorities of a godly life? How should I treat others? How can I get ahead on the job?

Dear reader, perfect answers to these and other questions are here in Proverbs!

What could the wisest man on earth charge per hour to authoritatively answer all these questions? $500 an hour? $5,000 an hour? But here is God's inspired wisdom by King Solomon free of charge! What a glorious blessing, if we will study and apply them!

Is the author qualified? The Author is Jehovah, Creator and Possessor of heaven and earth. He is more than qualified. And His writer was Solomon, the wisest king who ever lived, who gave his life and unlimited capital to prove the answers.

Dear reader, humble yourself before the God of heaven, thank Him for this gracious privilege, and find a blessing of wisdom from each of these nuggets of pure gold. If your heart is right, they will be sweet to your taste and profitable to your soul.

We will seek to interpret them exactly as the Holy Spirit intended, apply them as broadly as they should be, and look for a New Testament application and sign of our Lord Jesus Christ in each one.

We recommend reading one chapter of Proverbs each day corresponding to the day of the month. You will read the book twelve times a year this way, and have a daily reminder of wisdom for your life. And we hope the explanation of a proverb a day will help you understand what you are reading.

Questions and comments are welcome by email. And we will put you on the mailing list for the "Proverb of the Day" and its comments for a simple request.

If you fear God and love the Lord Jesus Christ, you have found new friends; and it is our sincere pleasure to serve you for His sake. May Jesus Christ be praised.
