Proverbs: Speech

4:24Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
10:11The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
10:19In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
10:21The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
10:32The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
12:18There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
12:25Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
13:3He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
15:1A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
15:7The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
16:24Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
17:4A wicked doer giveth heed to false lips; and a liar giveth ear to a naughty tongue.
17:20He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.
17:27He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
17:28Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
18:6A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
18:7A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
18:21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
22:11He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
24:26Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.
25:11A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
25:15By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone.
